Points2Ponder By Alan P. Scaglione

Jett and his Nano Easter Weekend 2011
My two new favorite words may not make sense at first, but for those grandparents out there…they are priceless. They are uttered by a 21 month old cherubic little boy as he runs around in circles, not concerned that he is not going anywhere and that the circle keeps getting smaller each time he makes a lap around. No, this little boy is just so filled with the joy of playing with his cousin Mykai, he calls him Kai!, and with being almost caught each time he makes a lap. He is giggling, shrilling “Wee!”at the top of his lungs, looking back to make sure Kai has not caught him and looking forward to make sure he doesn’t get caught the other way!
And then he stops, mid-lap, mid-run-around-the-circle and says those words…”Nano… Huggies!” He lifts up his arms and waits for me to pick him up, he wraps his little arms around my neck, hugs me so tight, resting his head in the nape of my neck…and then releases and fidgets his way out of my arms, back to the floor, back to running from his cousin Kai, back to screaming “Wee!” each time he runs around the living room.
Rinse and Repeat!
POINTS2PONDER  Why do we look for “things” to entertain us, to hold our attention, to captivate us—paying a lot of money to be swept away when… it’s the “little” things that bring us the “greatest” joy!
I found out from our resident toddler interpreter, Jett’s mom Kim, Huggies means Hold Me! I didn’t care what the literal translation was, each time he would stop in his tracks, look up and say, “Nano…Huggies!” I got this sweet sense of perfect memory being made! And it didn’t matter that he did this about 20 times that night—each Huggie was as good as the last and as perfect as the first!
And you thought he was asking to have his diaper changed?
