Merry Christmas Season to Everyone

Well.....it has been over 2 months since I have written and life just seems to be busy all the time and I do not keep up with my blog as I had hoped that I would. Perhaps next year will be the year of the blog????

I am still working on the cutest little red and green corduroy jumpers for Christmas along with other items. The red and green cord fabric will be gone soon and is already becoming harder to locate for me. Once it is gone I will not be purchasing any additional fabric in those colors. I do have a fair amount of the chocolate, hot pink, tan, black, and winter white that can still be worked up into jumpers, knot dresses, and big ruffle pants. I just love how the big ruffle pants look this year and have recently added 3 new selections to my shop: http://grannyzann.etsy.com

The Teal/Lemony Lime print is from Anna Marie Horner's Drawing Room collection and is really stunning. The Black/Hot Pink and White Damask is just beautiful and will look great with a little black T-Shirt/Peasant Blouse. I have an extremely limited amount of these fabrics so you need to order quickly if you want them. All shown here are available to ship in a size 5 immediately and if you need a different size, orders are taking about 1 week or less to complete. I have a lot of new fabrics that will be showing up as peasants in the coming weeks(s) as I work thru them and most have a limited supply. My sample/ready to ship size will likely be a size 5 or 6 depending on the fabric. Anyone interested in fabric swatches please let me know and I will send out to you.

More to come later and I promise to not keep you waiting so long.

Suzann

Fall/Winter Clothing Sneak Peak

Hello Everyone :)

Finally I have worked up a few of my fabrics and these have actually shipped to the first customer. I really like the way the patterns/fabrics worked so well and there are still new ones to come so keep on the look out over the next week or two for more.

This Argyle and Circle Flannel fabric was a favorite of so many of you so it was made up 1st and I decided on doing a knot dress and also a matching American Girl Knot dress. They both turned out super cute. What do you think? These will be in my shop later tonight.

I also worked up the Black and White Damask into a Peasant Blouse with ruffle at the hem and I truly love this traditional fabric. This is also available in an American Girl size.

And this is a favorite for sure - Little Brown Girly Owl Peasant  paired with ruffled brown corduroy pants..just too sweet....

You will have to check out my Etsy shop for all of the cute styles that I have added/will be adding tonight and tomorrow.

Have a great evening and a wonderful week. I hope you are having the same awesome weather we are!

Hugs,
Suzann

New Fall and Winter Fabrics

Good morning Everyone,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that you are having the same beautiful weather we are today :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE this time of year when at least part of the day is cool and sunny. From my home office and sewing studio (sounds much fancier than room :) ) I can watch the trees blow and bird flying around ...very cool and much preferable to my old space on the back side of the house.

I took several pics this morning for my wonderful customers that have patiently waited for me to bring out all the fall/ winter fabrics. This does not include the Christmas specific fabric (well a couple of them are) but does include what I plan to work up for fall in addition o the fabrics already in my shop. As usual most are limited and some I can actually purchase more of but will only do so for a short period of time before moving on to the next set of fabrics I fall in love with.  You will notice there are flannels in this group along with cottons. I love flannel clothing for children in the cooler months because it is so warm and just plain comfy. Along with the prints I show here I will add in solid colors where needed as well to round it all out. Oct. 1st will be the debut of my new Vintage Inspired Infant line called Serenity and will consist of some of the items you see in the previous 2 post along with staple items like matching bonnets and ruffled butt bloomers sold as sets so stay tuned and don't miss out on the new line.

See below for the new fabrics and feel free to contact me at http://grannyzann.etsy.com/ or by email at GrannyZann@comcast.net

Vintage Baby never looked so good

As promised in  my previous post I have been working on some vintage inspired dresses (Day Gowns) for infants up to about 6 months depending on the size of the baby. I have them completed and shipped to my sweet customer who ask that I make these custom dresses for her. As I was saying in  my last post I have wanted to add a line such as this to my GrannyZann shop on Etsy however, was not sure how it would be received and honestly the summer dresses I made up took way more time than I am willing to give for an item I carry all the time in my shop. That being said the ones in this post (winter dresses)  worked up in the "normal" amount of time I like to allow for a dress so that I can sell it at a fair price and both the customer and I fell good about the sale. I have heard from several people that read the previous post and they have all said "Make the dresses" sooooo I will add some of the little dresses to my shop and see what I can do from there. Since it is winter I will be adding in the ones I have on here today plus add some options for fabrics. I have also decide I will be offering a set containing just bloomers and a bonnet for those customers that just want to round out an outfit. These will be offered in all fabrics that I currently have plus any solid color cotton or flannel that I can purchase. I am still working on the pricing for the sets and also for the "Day Gowns" . I hope to be able to add to my shop in the next few weeks though since they are more fall/winter with the weight of the fabrics and sleeve lengths. Without further ado here are the latest pics....... Enjoy and as always I love to hear your comments :)

My sewing creations from last week as promised :)

As promised here are a few pics of my sewing adventure last week. I have a customer who likes the more vintage looking baby clothes so I made her a few things. I am debating on whether they should go into my shop as well or not so if you have an opinion on that please let me know :) I will write more later with the winter dresses that have been ordered once they are complete..this group is more vintage 50's style while the next group will be early 1900's so stay tuned:)

IIIIIIIIIII'MMMMM BBBBAAAACCCCKKKK :)

It has been so long since I have written her on my blog I was afraid you had all thought I died perhaps and did not want that to happen so here is a quick update for you.

My grandbabies have started back to school...I think this is week 3 and promise to post picks for you to see this week and Abigail will start pre-k4 after Labor Day. Martha (DIL) has started teaching 6th graders after graduating in May and they are keeping her very busy..she teaches Language Arts and Social Studies. Heather (DIL) is watching over Bella while Martha and Josh are out working so everyone is doing great.

I am still having physical therapy 3 times per week for my shoulder and some days are better than others where that is concerned but it is coming along. My therapist is a great guy and is very good at pushing you to do just a little bit more than you want to and that is likely a good thing since by nature we would not want to inflict pain on ourselves....

I have been doing some sewing (not as much as I would like) and have added in some new pretties for my shop here. I am really considering adding in some vintage inspired baby clothing, I am thinking very early 1900's and also some form the 40's and 50's. Let me know what you think about that.  I love the pretty little dresses from that time in history but they can be a bit time consuming as well so it will take some real thought before I just jump into it.  I have been working with a darling client here recently who also loves the more vintage looking baby clothing and I will post pics here of the items I am making up for her once everything is ready to be shipped this week. I have enjoyed the process very much and the dresses are just beautiful.

That is it for me tonight but I will be back I promise so be on the look out for the next post :)

Suzann

I have been making my Eco Friendly Sammies for a couple of days now in my free time and these will be hsowing up in my store as I get the pictures made. I have the ever so cute and unfortunately out of print....did I mention Extremely hard to find Heather Ross Vans on Pink and have just 3 Sammies (in varying sizes) available for sale and when they are gone they are gone for good since when you CAN find the fabric it is like crazy expensive for just a little piece. You can shop my Eco Friendly section here and here are a couple pics of the newest Sammies a Heather Ross and a Michael Miller Dick & Jane.

I just love the D&J prints :)
And the heather Ross is just adorable..I hate when a designer quits making a print that people just love because then the price just sky rockets and the normal people (reads Me) can not afford to buy even if I am lucky enough to find :(
I did snag an incredible deal today from the Fabric Mart I LOVE to shop at..you never know what one might find so it is always a treasure hunt. I noticed they are once again carrying a good bit of Toile which I love love love and the designer decorator fabric makes the most beautiful jackets once washed a time or two to remove the sizing and the fabrics are super cheap! Today I did not buy fabric (Heather would kill me if I did) BUT I did buy ribbon...not that I needed ribbon but it was $1 per spool, roll, etc.... and they had great stuff. Now $1 may seem like such a big deal for a spool of ribbon but these were not "normal" "I bought you at Joanne's" ribbon spools! These are 20 yards to 100 yard spools of ribbon!!!! Crazy good deal so I have a bunch of ribbon to store at this point and will be going crazy adding ribbon to every thing for awhile I am sure:) I bought some just plain solid color ribbons and others have polka dots my personal fave.

Well off here for the day and will post tomorrow the winner of the drawing being held at Granny Zann's!

Hugs,
Suzann

I want to share a great recipe with you today- Buffalo Chicken Pizza! Awesome flavor and oh so simple to make. I a providing directions for just 1 pizza however you can double or triple to make additional piza's very easily.

Ingredients:
  1. 1 cup cooked chicken chopped into small pieces or shredded up a bit
  2. 1/4 Crystals Hot Wing Sauce (you can use your favorite brand as well)
  3. 1 teaspoon butter
  4. Bacon 4 stripes
  5. 1 Pilsbury Thin Crust Pizza (in the same section as canned biscuits)
  6. 1 Cup mozzerella Cheese
  7. 1/8-1/4 Cup Blue Cheese or Ranch Dressing (your preference)
Heat 1,2,3 together over med. heat until all of the sauce is soaked up by the chicken - set aside.

Cook Bacon until crispy and crumble - set aside

Pizza Dough
Roll crust onto a pizza stone or a 15x9 cookie sheet stretching a bit to fit. Bake at 400* for 5 minutes and remove from oven.

Topping
Top pre cooked (after the 5 min.) pizza dough with 1/8-1/4 cup blue chees dressing or Ranch dressing if you do not like Blue Cheese (amount will depend on the amount of "sauce" you like on your pizza.)
Add cooked chicken mixture from above
Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzerella cheese over the sauce and chicken
Sprinkle with crumbled bacon

Bake in 400* oven for an additional 9-12 min. Check at 9 and bake until golden and crispy

Cut into squares or wedges and enjoy

This pizza is so yummy you will be making it all the time and is a great use for left over chicken.

That is all for now :)  See you soon

Hugs,
Suzann

Back from surgery and trying to catch up

It seems like for ever since I have written on my blog and it has been a long time....even before the shoulder surgery I was so busy sewing for one of the boutiques that I do work for that I did not have time to write and Lord knows if I had written anything last week with all the pain killers in me you would not have been able to figure out what I was trying to say. Truly I could not form a sentence to save my life but the meds did help with the pain even though I itched like I had some dread disease!

I am not running any new specials right now since I have the little boys ties and the Sammie reusable baggies on sale through the end of June. I will add in a new special for you next Monday.

There are a couple new listings up with the cutest little gal as a model see here

More to come later and hopefully Ican get back to writing more often again:)

Suzann

Abigails 1st Ballet Recital

Abigails recital was actually on Sat. May 15th however I am just getting around to posting those precious pics of her!  The girls did a great job and Ms. Nicole is just the sweetest ballet teacher ever. I am not sure of the age of the girls but believe them to all be in the 3 year old range with some almost 4. Abigail was so sweet and seemed to enjoy what she was doing. She is always such a very busy little girl and so ruff and tumble it was fun seeing her dressed and acting like a ballerina :) just perfect in every way.
Enjoy :)

Monday Special and Snippets

This weeks blog readers special for GrannyZann's Children's Boutique is.... 10% off anything that has flowers on it. you can shop here for some very pretty items :) this special will run until midnight Sunday May 23rd!

Another weekend come and gone......it seems we were busy all day every day but had a lot of fun as well.  I was suppose to participate all week in sewing for 1 hour each night for your kids (grands in my case) and I failed miserably! Just did not have the motivation to do it and had other items I had to sew for my shop which had to come first....another time hopefully soon.

Abigail had her 1st ballet recital and she was just too cute!!! I will post pics as soon as I receive them from Heather. Kaylee got her hair cut on Sat. very cute little bob and she looks adorable. I am not a big fan of short hair on little ones but it really just suits her so well. Bentley played at Nana's and Papa's house for a bit.

Sunday the David and Heather headed south to see Josh and Martha and sweet Bella.

The kids planted some flower boxes and pots for Granny's front porch Sunday and that was a lot of fun..they did such a great job and enjoyed both the choosing of the plants and the actual planting .
I hope everyone has a great week!
Hugs,
Suzann
